"I can join, add, relate things that traditionally and officially authorities present as differentiated in the extreme. Everything here joins and becomes syncretic, revealing perhaps that, in the supernatural, nothing is impossible."
(Roberto Da Matta, "Os caminhos para Deus", 1984)

The exhibition consists in photographs and two video work (a documentary and a fiction film). The documentary film show an Umbanda ritual, a Brazilian religion that blends African religions with Catholicism. The fiction film presents in tableaux-vivants, inspired by 19 century brazilian colonial watercolors, the story of an old slave who died for unjust indictment. These works are made in collaboration with Rosa Berardo, a Brazilian film director.
